Welcome Newport Beach Residents!
  • Place your carts at the curbside or alley no later than 6:30 a.m. on collection day.
  • Place carts away from any obstruction. (i.e. fire hydrant/trees)

If you elect to separate your recyclable materials:

  • The blue lid cart is for recyclables.
  • The black lid cart is for waste.


CR&R Observes the Following Holidays

If the holiday falls during the week, collection for the remainder of the week will be postponed by one day. For example, if July 4th falls on a Monday, and your normal collection day is Monday, your carts will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday customers are collected Wednesday, and so on.

Christmas trees will be collected beginning December 26th through January 15th at no charge. We ask that you place your tree near your regular collection area and remove all ornaments, and stands. If your tree is longer than 6’ please cut it in half. Our tree collectors will be by on your collection day so there is no need to call our office.
Container Information
As part of the city’s planned change in solid waste service, each residence may select from the following sizes of containers:
  • 35 gallon automated cart – 38.50"h x 19.25"w x 24.25"d
  • 64 gallon automated cart - 41"h x 27"w x 33"d
  • 96 gallon automated cart – 43.25"h x 29.75"w x 35.25"d

Container dimensions are approximate and are provided to assist in ensuring that your cart storage area (side yard, garage, etc.) can accommodate the size of cart that you order.

Additional carts are provided at no charge

Special Collections

Larger waste collection containers (from 10 to 40 yards) are available for clean-up projects and other disposal needs.
Recycling Information
If you order mixed waste carts only please be assured that a portion of the contents will be recycled.

If you order a recycling cart we provide the following information to assist you in identifying and removing materials unsuitable for recycling.

Hazardous Waste
Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are products that are flammable, corrosive, reactive or toxic. They are dangerous to the public and environment.

Examples of HHW include:
  • Auto Fluids
  • Propane
  • Cleaning Products
  • Paint & Solvents
  • Pesticides/Herbicides
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Non-Empty Aerosol Cans

Needles, lancets and other home-generated sharps may be collected door side. A fresh sharps collection container will be delivered upon collection of a filled container. Sharps by mail kits are also available at City Hall, and the Oasis Senior Center.

You may call CR&R Customer Service and make arrangements for a special door side collection of HHW items. The Customer Service Representative will ask you for a specific number and list of items. This is required by law in order to collect the material. Please be prepared with this information.

Bulky Items
Household items that cannot fit into your automated carts are considered bulky items. Bulky items must weigh less than 50lbs. and be manageable by a two-person crew. Common bulky items include:
  • Couches
  • Desks
  • Chairs
  • Tables
  • Mattresses
  • Excess Green Waste

To arrange a pickup of bulky items or enhanced bulky items, please call Customer Service at 877.728.0446 and they will schedule the collection on your normal service day.

Enhanced Bulky Item Collection (includes electronic waste and white goods)

Items exceeding the standard bulky items guidelines may be collected up to four (4) times per year with a maximum of four (4) items per collection. Enhanced bulky items include:

  • Sleeper couches
  • Refrigerator
  • Range
  • Washer/Dryer
  • Dishwasher
  • Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Household Batteries

And the following Electronic Waste (e-waste) items:

  • Monitors
  • Microwave Devices
  • Televisions
  • Printers/Scanners
  • Digital Cameras
  • Copiers
  • MP3 Players/Stereos

  • Computer Peripherals

To arrange a pickup of bulky items please call Customer Service. The service will be scheduled on your normal collection day

Special Services
Customers with disabilities may request cart pull out service at no charge. Drivers will remove carts from your cart storage area and return emptied carts. Proof of disability will be required. If you do not meet the requirements for free cart pull-out service, you can request the service by contacting Customer Service for additional information and rates. CR&R will provide a summer Saturday collection with a second weekly collection on Saturday from two Saturdays prior to July 4th through the Saturday prior to Labor Day each year. To view the map of these defined areas please click here.

There will be a paper shred event on Saturday, May 2 from 8:00am – 11 noon. It will be held the OASIS Senior Center's auxiliary parking lot located at the northwest corner of Marguerite & Fifth Avenue, Corona del Mar.

Mulch Give Away will be provided once annually with a date, location, and time to be announced. Please check back for additional information.
