While our successful recyclables buyback center in Stanton was already purchasing and processing some 20,000 tons of recyclables from residents, we knew we could do better. If we made trading trash for cash even easier, we were sure we could achieve new levels of reclamation. So we pioneered redemption centers at supermarkets throughout Southern California where folks could simply exchange their California-certified redemption value beverage containers for some extra moola on the way to do some shopping. You might say it’s an idea that produced many happy returns.
